Follow Frank: Monthly Update February Edition

Team LaRose is off to a strong start for 2018! Frank filed his petitions to be placed on the ballot earlier this week, and filed his finance report last week that puts our campaign $200,000 ahead of his opponent. Our campaign is running full steam ahead, but we still have a lot of work to do to be successful in November.

Additionally, I wanted to make sure you saw that Frank and his colleagues in the legislature approved congressional redistricting reform this week. The balanced plan, which passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, will now appear before the voters on the May primary ballot. Click here to read Frank’s press release, and please help us share the video below on Facebook.

Frank is busy traveling the state to meet voters and earn their support over the next nine months. We hope to see you on the trail at one of the events below!

Thanks for all of your support.

LaRose Speaks at Ohio Association of Elections Officials Conference

Recently, Frank had the opportunity to speak to hundreds of dedicated elections officials at the Ohio Association of Elections Officials annual winter conference in Columbus. He discussed his work in the Ohio legislature on elections issues, the critical role our elections officials play in our democracy, and the need for funding to update our aging voting equipment in Ohio. The annual conference is a terrific place to meet our hard working elections officials, and see all of the work they are doing to continue to keep our elections secure, efficient and accessible to all Ohio voters.

National Democrats Focus on Ohio Secretary of State Race

Washington Post: David Weigel – The left-leaning ballot access group iVote will spend at least $5 million across swing states to elect Democratic secretaries of state — the latest front in the “voting wars” that Democrats worried they have been losing. This year, iVote will focus on electing Democrats as the chief election officials in seven states: Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico and Ohio. LaRose talks about Keeping our Elections Secure

ABC 6 Columbus: Ben Garbarek – “Nobody wants to see voters sort of precipitously being removed from the voter rolls,” said Republican candidate Frank LaRose. “At the same time the secretary is required to maintain accurate voter rolls.” LaRose said voter fraud is rare but that doesn’t mean he’s not worried about it. “One instance of voter fraud is too many,” he said. LaRose Welcomes Support for New Voting Machine Funding

Senator Frank LaRose welcomed support for his proposal to modernize the state’s election system. “I was thrilled hear Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted’s comments today about the need to modernize our voting machines. It is exciting to see other elected officials coming forward to recognize the need to modernize this outdated equipment,” Sen LaRose said. “Now we need to work together, in a bipartisan way, to ensure that the infrastructure of our democracy is properly maintained.” Click here to read the full story
