LaRose Announces FOP Ohio Endorsement
COLUMBUS — Ohio Secretary of State candidate Frank LaRose today announced his endorsement by the state’s largest police organization, which represents over 25,000 active and retired officers, the Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio (“FOP Ohio”).
“Frank is a steadfast supporter of Ohio’s law enforcement. His work has made a positive impact on the men and women we serve, and on our communities,” said FOP President Gary Wolske, “For us, this isn’t a partisan decision. Frank has been with us on many of our most important issues, and we’re proud to offer him our endorsement.”
Throughout his time in the State Senate, Frank LaRose has been a leader on key issues impacting Ohio’s police and first responders, including sponsoring legislation to increase survivor benefits for the families of the fallen (SB 296) ensurefirst responders get needed coverage to aid in their recovery from post-traumatic stress disorder (SB 118) and increase penalties for fentanyl traffickers (SB 1) and violent career criminals (SB 97).
“I’m truly honored to earn this endorsement from the hard-working men and women of the FOP. I’ve proudly stood with them and their families in my work at the Statehouse and it means the world to me that Ohio’s bravest have my back in this election” said Frank LaRose, “Our law enforcement officers risk their lives every day to keep our communities safe. They deserve our respect and appreciation.”
FOP Ohio’s endorsement adds to a growing wave of support for Frank LaRose from groups and individuals across the state, including a large number of labor organizations who know that he fights for working families and will continue to do so as Secretary of State.
LaRose concluded by reflecting back to his time in uniform, saying, “For me, this is also personal; many of the people I served with in combat have gone on to careers in law enforcement. I will always back the men and women in blue.”
